Bio:

Born and raised in Berkeley, California, Adam Stern has been surrounded by music his entire life.  As a child, his parents introduced him to artists such as James Taylor, Bob Marley, The Beatles, Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, and The Red Hot Chili Peppers. Having taken up piano and guitar at a very young age, Adam honed his talents playing along with his newfound idols, and soon started to create music of his own.

By age twelve, Adam had formed his first band and could be found hanging out in legendary Bay Area venues such as the Freight & Salvage, Ashkenaz, and La Peña. Stemming from the diverse musical culture of the Bay Area, he has blended the traditions of the folk artist and troubadour with pop, reggae, funk, world rhythms, hip hop and rock to create a unique sound he calls, “Organic Pop”.

At the age of fifteen he left home to continue his education.  Adam lived in New England where in a barn in Bath, Maine, he recorded a large body of work on ½ inch tape intensely studying the art of analogue recording.  After extensive travel, he returned to his native roots, albeit south, in Los Angeles, and in 2001 was officially awarded & recognized by the State of California as a, “California Arts Scholar.”

In 2009, Adam recorded and independently released his debut full-length studio album, The Dreamer Child.  The Dreamer Child is available now through all major online retailers.

In February, 2011, Adam re-launched his website adamsternrocks.com, and began his Music Monday campaign, featuring the single, All Night Long, in which he records and releases new music to fans for free. During this time, Adam also recorded and released a special Valentine’s Day EP Collection, Bisou, containing the tracks, Bisou and Attraction.

On 11/11/11 at 11:11am, Adam officially released his second full-length studio album, Cosmicology, produced by David Noily of the band Elevaters, Adam recorded Cosmicology, along with all his other music in a recording space he built in Los Angeles known as, Player Lair Studio. Cosmicology is available now on iTunes, Amazon and directly through adamsternrocks.com. Adam looks forward to sharing Cosmicology, his uplifting message of peace, coexistence, love and hope with the world, while rocking a city near you.

“Adam sounds like he could be the musical lovechild of Jack Johnson and Goapele. . . if James Taylor was his nanny.” – 38thnotes.com

“[California Sun] is a song like no other, highly-original, and in a class by itself — very well done, indeed. I love this song, I love the video, and I love Stern’s style.  So California!” – californiality.com
